Kuta Beach, Lombok is a tourist spot on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. This beach with white sand like peppercorns is located in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone in Kuta Village. Kuta Beach is starting to become known and
developed as a tourist destination initially by PT. Rajawali Indonesia (BUMN, now ITDC) in the 1970s. Kuta Beach (Kute, local spelling) is famous for its white sand which is different from most beaches in Indonesia.[1] White sand like pepper with a long coastline makes Kuta an idol for domestic and foreign tourists. There is the biggest cultural ceremony on Lombok Island and the Sasak ceremony is held once a year in this village. This is the Bau Nyale ceremony. In this ceremony, people and tourists look for and hunt Nyale worms in the sea. According to legend, once there was a princess, named Princess Mandalika, who was very beautiful, many princes and young men wanted to marry her. Because of the princess' policy and not wanting bloodshed between the kingdoms. then he decides to moksa (lost) and looks like he is falling into the sea. But before that, the princess said, "O my people, if you want to meet me, look for me on the 20th of the tenth month (Sasak calendar) along this coast every year," said the princess. Until now, this traditional ritual is still carried out and packaged as a very attractive tourist attraction for tourists. This form of sea worm (nyalè) is believed to be the reincarnation of the princess with the principle of justice. All people can get it without having to fight over the princess's body. The Bau Nyale event is usually held between February - March every year, located along the Kuta Beach peninsula, Central Lombok.
